Slab Slump Mold

This is my slab slump bowl and it has made me truly realize how terrible i am at glazing and that i need to put WAY more layers. I also should've smoothed out the bowl more so it was a proper finished piece.

Sgraffito Pot

This is my Sgraffito pot and i quite like it but definitely need to get better at glazing. My carvings were pretty clean and i liked the color scheme but the glaze coat was too light and some spots weren't hit in the cracks. Glazing is a weak point for me that i could improve at but it makes me nervous because i can mess up a good piece with bad glazing.

Choice Project

For my choice project i created a simple pinch pot, then spent about 5 hours of in class time carving vines emerging from a pot. I started to genuinely lose my mind about half way through and the hardest part was cleaning the little clay boogers out of the carvings after creating them.

Coil Bowl

This in my coil bowl and it didn't make it further than this stage because i truly didn't like it, i was petrified to put it in the kiln because there was so much scoring and slipping i thought id made a clay bomb but i didn't. but i still just didn't really like the piece and the concept didn't really speak with me so i moved on.

Slab Darted

IMG_9656.jpg

This is my darted slab i didnt really understand at first but i got it and this piece also highlighted my bad glazing and showed that i need to take more time and add more layers. even more than i think i need. it was a fun concept and i would like to continue it and try again later

Relief Carving Part II

This is Part 2 of my relief carving journey and this one i actually quite like (for now) it has been glazed and is in the kiln so this is the furthest updated picture i have of it. Jacob provided the idea of the bee and i like the 3d texture the flower adds to the piece.
